Burial & Cremation
Because the choice between burial and cremation is an important one and often an emotional issue, it is better if each individual makes this decision and tells family members before they pass away. However, if you have been given no indication of the wishes of the person who has died, then the best idea is to discuss this with all family members. Rest assured that if cremation is chosen, the coffin, handles and ornamentation are always cremated - they are never re-used.
Most cemeteries have places where the cremated remains or ashes can be placed in wall niches or garden areas. Alternatively, the family can take the ashes and arrange to scatter them at a significant place, have them buried into a family grave or keep them at home.
The Toowoomba Crematorium is situated in the grounds of the Garden of Remembrance Cemetery in Ruthven St Toowoomba.
Burial options vary, with monumental, lawn and memorial lawn sections available. Burial costs vary, according to the cemetery of your choice. We are happy to advise you regarding the various options available.
Cemeteries available in Toowoomba are the Drayton and Toowoomba Cemetery situated on the corner of South Street and Anzac Ave and The Garden of Remembrance Cemetery situated at the southern end of Ruthven Street.
Most country towns including Dalby, Oakey, Pittsworth, Clifton, Millmerran, Crows Nest, Warwick, Helidon, Gatton, Allora, Cambooya and many others, all have well maintained cemeteries available .
Some cemeteries allow families to pre-purchase grave plots, interment fees and the plaque. Others will reserve a specific grave and the costs are then paid for at the time of burial.
Making the choice that suits you and your family may take a little discussion and thought. However we are always here to provide further information and assistance
