Selecting a Coffin
Choosing a coffin can be difficult, but it is an important decision.
We are able to give you support when selecting a coffin and to explain the details of the coffin construction and finishing details.
In Australian Heritage Funeral's display room you can view the range of coffins, or you may prefer to make your selection from photos.
Coffins and caskets are generally suitable for either burial or cremation and vary from the elaborate to the simple, with many choices in between to cater for all choice of funerals and requirements. The decision on choice of coffin should be governed by good judgment and family wishes. For many people, the coffin or casket is considered as a tribute and is therefore carefully selected.
The prices are clearly marked. You will be given plenty of time to make your choice and you will not be pressured to spend more than you have to.
If you do require something special or a coffin that we do not usually carry, please tell us so that we can endeavour to obtain it for you.
A suitable plate with the name of the loved one engraved will be provided and attached to the lid of the coffin. We will be happy to discuss with you the selection of religious symbols such as a cross or crucifix, or non-religious symbols such as a rose, or symbols used in the funeral of persons of non-Christian faiths.
We have an extensive range of solid timber coffins in timbers such as cedar, rosewood or pine and we also carry coffins made of particle board or craftwood.
An additional range of high quality caskets in either steel or solid timber are available.
We also carry coffins in painted finishes such as white or pink. Coffins painted in your choice of colour specification are also available. However, you may need to allow a little extra time for delivery.
The consultant will also discuss with you the interior linings of the coffins and answer any questions you may have.
