Ways of Remembering
Say It With Flowers
Floral arrangements have long played a symbolic part in funerals. We have a floral photo album to help you and your family to choose the tributes you feel are suitable. We can also arrange to order all the flowers required. These can be charged to the funeral account or we can send out individual accounts.
Perhaps the person who has passed away had a favourite type of flower or colour that they loved that you may like to include. If you have special requirements then please discuss them with us.
Younger members of the family may like to create their own special posy from the garden, or you may wish to place a single flower or petals on the coffin or in the grave.
On the day of the funeral we will make sure that the flowers are delivered on time, are handled with care and displayed attractively.
Most florists will include two floral message cards. We will remove one card and give it to you so that you have a copy to keep.
The way we choose to remember those we love is unique and meaningful to each person. For some, memories are enough, while others feel the need to keep personal possessions belonging to the person who has died.
A Lock of Hair
Some people like to keep a lock of hair to be placed in a locket or piece of jewellery, or just kept safely at home. If you would like a lock of hair, please tell us.
Handprints & Footprints
For babies and young children who have passed away, a precious keepsake are prints from tiny hands and feet. If you would like us to take these prints, please advise us.
Photos
Some people wish to have photos of the deceased. For many cultural groups this is a common item to send to relatives. It is not a strange request and we are happy to take photos on your behalf.
Donations
Instead of family and friends sending flowers, many families request that donations to a nominated charity would be preferred.
We are happy to collect these donations on your behalf. We take locked collection boxes to the ceremony with the printed envelopes. After the ceremony we deliver the donations to the charity and they will send you an acknowledgment.
Videos and Tape Recording the Service
We can arrange to record or video the service to create a lasting memory. This may be of help to those who cannot attend the service.
DVD/Video Tribute
We can create a lasting tribute of the deceased by incorporating favourite photos, video and music in a DVD or video presentation. This can be screened at the service and if you wish, copies can be made available to take home.
